I Built My Own AI Investment Intelligence System

DataForgeStudio is a personal project. I’m a Canadian retail investor with a full-time job. I couldn’t watch the markets around the clock, and I couldn’t justify the research platforms the professionals pay for. So I built my own. What started as an experiment now runs as a team of specialized AI analysts, working nonstop across crypto, equities, macro economics, and political risk.

About This Project

I built DataForgeStudio because I wanted better tools. I’ve invested for years. Somewhere along the way I got tired of paying for research that only gave me generic analysis, and tired of losing weekends to reports just to keep up with the market. What I really wanted was something that worked like a proper research team. Specialized analysts, each an expert in one domain, all working together to surface the signals that actually matter. So I built it.

The system runs on 60+ AI analysts. Each one is a language model with a defined role, a data mandate, and its own set of sources to watch. They are grouped into departments: a crypto team, an equity team, a macro and geopolitical team, a political risk team, and an operations team that keeps everything running. A Chief Investment Officer sits at the top and pulls it all together into a daily brief. The whole thing runs on a Raspberry Pi cluster in my home. It draws data from dozens of sources, works through thousands of signals a week, and delivers structured intelligence to my private Discord server around the clock.

Why I Built It

Institutional investors have teams of analysts, private data feeds, and serious risk systems. Retail investors get a news app and a discount brokerage. That gap has always bothered me. I’m a developer by trade, and when large language models got good enough to do real analytical work, I saw a chance to close some of that distance, at least for myself. DataForgeStudio is my answer to it. It isn’t perfect. It isn’t finished. It is opinionated on purpose. But it gives me a level of market awareness I could not get any other way.

What We Monitor

Cryptocurrency Markets
The system monitors Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and dozens of altcoins around the clock. It tracks on-chain accumulation signals, market cycle positioning, Fear & Greed extremes, and liquidity conditions. Crypto moves fast, and having a system that never sleeps means I never miss a setup.

North American Equities
Coverage spans the TSX and major US exchanges. The system screens for momentum, earnings catalysts, insider activity, options flow anomalies, and sector rotation signals. Every signal is scored and filtered before it reaches me, reducing noise and surfacing only meaningful setups.

Macro & Geopolitical
Central bank decisions, economic data releases, geopolitical events, and commodity markets all feed into a dedicated macro intelligence layer. The system monitors Bank of Canada and Federal Reserve policy decisions in real time, tracking rate changes and forward guidance as they happen. Global events are assessed for their direct market impact, and economic calendar events including CPI, employment data, and PMI releases are tracked ahead of time, with context prepared before the numbers drop. Everything flows into a daily macro brief that provides the kind of geopolitical and economic context that institutional traders take for granted.

Political Risk
Canadian and US political developments with market implications are monitored continuously. The system tracks how legislative, executive, and regulatory developments in the United States and Canada interact with and influence one another. Cross-border trade policy, sanctions, and regulatory changes with market impact are assessed and synthesized into structured risk assessments.

Commodities & Energy
Commodity markets sit at the intersection of geopolitics, weather, and industrial demand. Oil, natural gas, gold, agricultural products, and industrial inputs all respond to forces that few retail investors track systematically. DataForgeStudio monitors energy markets, commodity supply chains, and the macro drivers that move commodity prices, feeding that intelligence into both direct commodity signals and sector rotation decisions across energy and materials equities.

Prediction Markets
Prediction markets aggregate collective intelligence from thousands of participants with real money at stake. When prediction market probabilities diverge sharply from consensus expectations, that divergence is itself a signal. DataForgeStudio monitors prediction markets for early reads on political outcomes, economic events, and binary catalysts that have direct implications for equity and currency positioning.

Talk to the Analysts

One of the more unusual things about this system is that you can actually talk to the analysts. Not chat with a generic AI assistant. Talk to Summit, the Chief Investment Officer, or bring in the full investment committee for a second opinion.

Ask Summit why financials are down today and whether you should buy the dip. Bring in Atlas for the macro angle. Let Sterling run the fundamentals. The committee debates the question in front of you, each analyst drawing on live market data, recent news, and their specific domain expertise.

The conversations have memory. Ask a follow-up question two hours later and the analysts remember what was discussed. They know recent events, not just historical data but what happened this morning, this week, and what is coming up on the economic calendar.

This is not a chatbot. It is a panel of specialists who have been watching markets all day, every day, and can speak to what they are seeing right now.

The Governance Layer

The part I’m proudest of is the governance framework. Every signal the system generates is logged with its entry price and its exit conditions. Over time, the system tracks whether each call was right or wrong. Analysts with poor track records get their signals suppressed. Thresholds tighten or loosen based on real performance. It is the kind of accountability most retail investors never apply to their own decisions, and to be honest, plenty of professionals skip it too. Building it forced me to think hard about what good analysis actually looks like.

This Site

This site shares a curated view of what the system produces. You’ll find daily market intelligence, weekly analysis, and political risk assessments, all filtered to strip out anything personal about my portfolio. Nothing here is financial advice. I share it because I think the approach is genuinely interesting, and because building in the open keeps me honest about what is working and what is not.

Curious who the analysts are? I’ve published profiles for the senior members of the team. You can read the roles, the mandates, and how long each one has been running.
